My friend Charles made this video in 2014. It's a bit long but if you're interested in my process or why I paint what I do, it's worth a look.
Pat has been drawing and creating art most of his life and painted his first oil painting on canvas when he was 17 years old. He studied English and fine arts at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada where he first learned oil painting from Tony Urqhaart and Art Green. In South Korea, Pat also studied woodblock printmaking with master printmaker, Ju Jeong-Hee. In 2006, he began a slow return to oil painting and a year later established a studio at his home in Boise, Idaho where he now lives with his wife Sarah and sons Liam & Sam.
Pat’s works are in collections throughout the US & Canada and can also be found locally on the walls of the Idaho History Museum, Boise City Hall and the Idaho Youth Ranch’s new Residential Center for Healing & Resilience. He has public art pieces in Boise and Ketchum, Idaho.
